The flag of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) comprise of the Pan-Arab colors, which are red, green, white, and black. United Arab Emirates Flag was designed in 1971 accepted on December 2, 1971. Unity of Arab nations is the main theme of the flag.
In 2008, there was a slight change to the Emblem. Merchant ships may fly the other civil ensign, a red flag with the state flag in the canton. All Countries use the federal flag interchangeably as the Flag of United Arab Emirates.
Great Britain obliged many of the insignificant Arab states on the southern shore of the Persian Gulf to sign the so-called “General Treaty” of January 8, 1820. According to the treaty, members added a white border as a sign of their nonviolent intents and their association with Britain. On December 2, 1971, seven of the countries united to form the United Arab Emirates. The new flag removed its four colors from the Arab Revolt Flag of 1917. No clarification was given of the color representation; however in other national flags derived from the same source the colors originally recalled those applies by Arab dynasties of the past.
Red signifies hardiness, bravery, forte and courage. The vertical red stripe can also be understood as binding all the other connotations together in unity. Green stands for hope, joy, optimism, and love. It can also represent the countries affluence. White characterizes peace and honesty. White is the cleanest color, and is understood by some to symbolize cleanliness. Black color is recognized for the defeat of enemies, and also strength of mind.
