The flag of Italy features tricolor- three equally-sized vertical stakes of green, white and red, with the green at the winch side. The present Italy Flag was in use since 18 June 1946, however, it was approved on 1 January 1948.
The present design of the tricolor flag was used in 1946 and was officially approved as the national flag in 1948. The most recent design was approved in 2006 after the shades of colors were modified from original versions in Flag of Italy.
The first object to use the Italian tricolor was the Cispadane Republic in 1797, which displaced Milan after Napoleon's winning army crossed Italy in 1796. The colors chosen by the Cispadane Republic were red and white, which were the colors of the recently occupied flag of Milan; and green, which was the color of the unvarying of the Milanese civic guard. During this time, many small French-proxy republics of Jacobin incentive supplanted the ancient complete Italian states and almost all, with alternatives of color, used flags characterized by three bands of equal size, clearly moved by the French model of 1790.
It is supposed that the first use of the tricolor was experimented in 1794. The first tricolor flag was accepted in 1797 by the Cispadane Republic. The flag was later changed the next year, though the colors remained the similar. Throughout history, the flag was altered during the times of the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Italy. Though, the colors always continued green, red and white.
Red and white were considered as the colors of Milan, while green was referred for the Milanese civic guard uniforms. The color green is signifies Italy’s land. White defines the snow-topped peaks of the Alps, while the red is understood of the bloodshed during the Wards of Italian Independence. Moreover, the three colors define the virtues of hope, faith and charity.
