The flag of the Dominican Republic was established by father Juan Pablo Duarte, and accepted in 1844. Dominican Republic Flag has focused with a white cross that spreads to the edges and gulfs the flag into four rectangles. The color blue is for authorization, red for the blood of conquerors, and white for deliverance. A minor coat of arms respites at the center of the flag.

The Dominican Republic coat of arms comprises of a shield in divided colors of the flag, with a laurel branch to the left and a palm leaf to the right. Flag of Dominican Republic has the blue band above the shield shows the national motto: God, Fatherland, Liberty. In the midpoint of the shield, flanked by six spikes, is a Bible with a small excellent cross above it. Popular belief claims that the pages are unlocked to the Gospel of John 8:32, which reads, the truth shall make you free.

History of Dominican Republic Flag

As labeled by Article 21 of the Dominican Constitution, the flag landscapes a concentrated white cross that spreads to the edges and divides the flag into four frames; the upper ones are blue (hoist side) and red, and the lower ones are red (hoist side) and blue. The national coat of arms, presenting a shield with the flag design and reinforced by a bay laurel branch (leftward) and a palm frond (right), is at the center of the cross.
