The flag of Brazil has a blue disc portraying a starry sky spanned by a curved band emblazoned with the national motto "Order and Progress". In addition, Brazil Flag has a yellow rhombus, on a green field. In November 19, 1889, the country officially approved this design for its national flag.

The green field and the yellow rhombus are taken from the previous imperial flag. However, there is a slightly altered is seen in Brazilian Flag in hue and shape. The green depicts the House of Braganza of Pedro I, while the yellow signifies the House of Habsburg of his wife. A blue ring with white five-pointed stars substituted the arms of the Empire of Brazil.

September 7, 1822, Dom Pedro announced the country’s independence. The new Brazil’s flag contained of a green contextual with a yellow diamond and the imperial coat of arms in the midpoint, joining a star the Brazilian states.
