The national flag of Belgium is a tricolour flag. Belgium Flag has three colors of black, yellow, and red. The belgian flag colors were taken from the coat of arms of the Duchy of Brabant. Also, the vertical design based on the France’ flag. When flown, the black band is nearest the pole and has the unusual proportions of 13:15.
On 26 August 1830, with the start of the Belgian Revolution, the flag of France flew from the city hall of Brussels. The rebels hastily substituted it with a tricolour of red, yellow and black straight stripes made at a nearby fabric store. As a result, Article 193 of the Constitution of Belgium defines the colors of the Belgian nation as Red, Yellow and Black instead of using the order shown in the official flag.
When Belgium was control by France. The French national tricolor was flown over the Belgium nation. However, when riots kicked off the opening of the Belgian Revolution, insurgents swapped the flag with one of red, black and yellow stripes, which bore a likeness to the flag used throughout the Brabant Revolution of the 18th century. Originally, the belgian flag included vertical stripes but later the arrangement of colors was also changed and the flag was adopted on October 12, 1831.
The present-day territory of Belgium had a Belgian flag of two horizontal red stripes separated by a white stripe. When Austrian ruled the Belgium, a number of diverse flags were used until the Austrian Emperor imposed the Austrian flag. However, the population of Brussels opposed against the imposition and thus, the flag had to go through amendments.
